Friend of GenerousGenealogists

Become a visible friend of GenerousGenealogists!

To qualify as a Friend of GenerousGenealogists is simple. All you need do is:

  • Read or contribute in any way “on” or “to” our site

Your involvement can be as simple as:

  • Volunteering to help others
  • Contributing articles, comments, etc.
  • “Like” us on facebook or similar on Google, etc.
  • Publish something positive about us on your Blog or elsewhere

So if you are registered on our site, “Like” us or are a volunteer AND you have a website or Blog, we would love to have you display our “button”. Additionally, if you let us know that you & your site are a “Friend”, we will happily provide a link from our site to yours!

To use our “button” on your website, page or blog, right click on the appropriate link above and SAVE the image to your PC/Mac. Please do NOT alter the graphic in any way. You may resize it, but remember you will need to modify the html code which specifies the image of the button to your new size. Our “button” itself must remain visibly unaltered beyond resizing. The dark background “cell” contains an image for use on dark backgrounds. Both images are transparent png files and they should work well when appropriately matched to a dark/ light background.

Please be sure to upload the “button” image to your site (don’t use/link to our image here; our host will get cranky if you do.) Simply Right-click on the image and select “Save As” in order to copy the image.

Next, copy the html code below and remember to modify it as required:

  1. if you have resized the image, remember to align your image sizes in the html to the actual image you use
  2. be certain to point to the location where you have stored the GenerousGenealogists “button” image

HTML Code

for Light background pages use:

<a href=”http://generousgenealogists.com/ rel=”nofollow”"><img src=”http:// [enter your image url location]/GGfriend1.png” border=”0″ width=”190″ height=”63″ alt=”I’m a Friend of GenerousGenealogists!”> </a>

for Dark background pages use:

<a href=”http://generousgenealogists.com/ rel=”nofollow”"><img src=”http:// [enter your image url location]/darkGGfriend1.png” border=”0″ width=”190″ height=”63″ alt=”I’m a Friend of GenerousGenealogists!”> </a>

If you have problems getting the “button” to display please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you get things operational.

Please let us know if you upload and use the Friend of GenerousGenealogists logo & link.  We would like to provide a reciprocal link to your site as well!

(Note: Thanks to Greg Bennette for his modifications and improvements to this page.)

Hi Mark I’m trying to post your logo on my blog. I use blogger, but I’m having a hard time getting it on my site correctly. I followed the directions listed above but I am getting a very dark logo that says “Friend” How can I get a different image of your button? Thanks -Chris White

I saved the image to my desktop. I am using Blogger to insert a HTML”gadget” I know that I paste the HTML code there but what am I supposed to use as the url location? The image is on my hard drive, not on the internet. Alternatively I can just upload the image to Blogger but then I don’t know how to make it where it will link to your website.

Mark, I would love to show this button, but I am so not figuring how to. I have been given many awards but no idea how to make them show on my web page. I will see what I can do. Thanks
