GenerousGenealogists’ Internet Traffic and Rankings

I thought after all the challenges I experienced in moving our site, folks might appreciate an update on how we stand “Internet- wise”.

I have to admit that I am, personally, quite pleased with the status of our Internet traffic and rankings.  Of course, I wish they were higher (better). Because if the ratings and rankings mean anything, the higher they are the more folks we’d be able to reach and assist in solving their Genealogy and Brickwall challenges/problems! And helping more is always better…

What follows are active widgets (which means the data reported here will be updated ‘automagically’ over time).

First off, GenerousGenealogists is now truly ranked by Alexa; we actually appear on the Internet radar screen and have real ranking numbers, globally and in the US. I know our numbers make us sound like pikers; and in the great ocean of the Internet we are.  But, I personally have never been involved with a website as popular as you have helped make this one. So, I feel “pretty darn good”.

From a Google Page Ranking perspective, we are also doing quite well (in my opinion):



Most certainly we want to achieve better numbers.

You can help us achieve higher rankings! If you are willing to help improve our traffic and increase our ability to help others, there are many things you can do. Assuming you are not inclined towards fancy technological things and are mostly a person interest in doing genealogy on the Internet.  You can:

• tell people about our site, verbally, via email, or in person
• you can visit and contribute regularly here (yes, participation ‘ups’ our ratings…)
• use our Share buttons at the bottom of each article and page (where they appear) to improve our reach

I know it seems strange that such little things help, but they do!

As for those of you who are more technically inclined, here are some things you can do:

• If you have a website, you can provide a link from your site to ours.  Remember we are:
  http://generousgenealogists.com   (If you let us know of your link, we will reciprocate!  Reciprocal links helps each site.)
• Better yet, you can place a Friend of GenrousGenalogists image/ link on your site. Not only will the link look better, but the little icon helps folks recognize our “brand”.
